Renaissance Island: The Iconic Flamingo Beach
Flamingo Beach is part of Renaissance Island, reached by the resort’s water taxi. Renaissance resort guests have island access as part of their stay; visitors staying elsewhere need an eligible day pass or qualifying Spa Cove arrangement.
Board a small water taxi from the Renaissance Marina Hotel lobby in Oranjestad. Boats depart approximately every 15 minutes for Renaissance Island.
For day passes, use the official Renaissance booking portal. Availability is limited and changes with resort occupancy.
When day passes are released
The official portal currently states that passes open every Saturday at 9:00 AM for the upcoming Sunday–Saturday week. Plan around 9:00 AM Aruba time.
Release procedure verified directly on the official booking portal on October 13, 2026.
Okeanos Spa Cove Reservations
An island Spa Cove reservation can be another way to enjoy Renaissance Island. Okeanos Spa offers secluded treatments in a mangrove setting beside the sea.
Ask Okeanos Spa about a qualifying Spa Cove treatment for a non-resort guest. Confirm island access, boat transfers, the number of people included, and the reservation’s terms directly with the spa before booking.
Official Okeanos Spa InformationPlanning a Visit With Children
Renaissance’s official resort page describes Flamingo Beach as adults-only and Iguana Beach as family-friendly. Confirm any current supervised visiting window for children at Flamingo Beach directly with the resort before booking.
At De Palm Island, standard island admission has children’s options, but premium areas have their own rules. Premium Seating is currently listed for ages 10 and up; check the age requirements for the exact upgrade you choose.
De Palm Island: Flamingos & Island Adventures
De Palm Island offers a day of snorkeling, water attractions, food, drinks, and family activities. Standard admission allows flamingo viewing from a distance.
Make your way to the De Palm Island ferry terminal at Port De Palm, then take the island’s short ferry crossing. Boats run regularly between the terminal and island, approximately every 15 minutes.
Close-up flamingo access requires a separate premium upgrade, such as Premium Seating, a VIP Palapa, a Private Cabana, or a Beach Cabana. Island entry and the premium upgrade are separate purchases.
Flamingo availability follows the island’s animal-care guidance. Compare the current entry and upgrade details on the official operator’s website.
A Few Practical Tips
Plan your access first
Secure your island access before arranging the rest of your day. Check transport, check-in, and what your chosen ticket includes.
Pack for a beach day
Bring swimwear, sun protection, and a towel. De Palm’s coral shore can be rocky, so water shoes are useful.
Follow the island’s guidance
Give the flamingos space and follow staff instructions. Renaissance’s portal currently notes that the island is cashless; food, drinks, and cabanas are not included with its day pass.
Staying at Bali Retreat Aruba does not include admission to Renaissance Island or De Palm Island. Island access must be arranged separately.
